[Note: some email issues I haven’t had time for yet]
(posts are going to be boring to start….)
My ship board residence (It’s not really a cabin, not really a condo) is 540 sq ft. furnished. My house in Scottsdale is about 5700 sq ft. My intermediate place in Florida is 830 sq ft.(lease pending) So I need to get down to very little possessions. Even though it’s an open house and I try and live with a rule that if you aren’t using it it doesn’t belong, it’s still a lot of stuff to deal with.
I’m not particularly tied to things and I’ve been operating with a rule, “if you haven’t used it in a few years, why do you have it?”. However, it’s still a challenge to sell/keep/gift so much of the material part of my life. It’s freeing in a sense, but I also do have strong attachments to a lot of the art. I’m hoping friends will like some of it.
I’m attempting to give or sell the things useful to the Burning Man community and the rest goes to the public, donation or trash.
Speak up if you want something. Like a paint sprayer, the pile of alcohol, dishes, blankets, mattresses, art supplies, etc. etc. All of it is going from my life in the next few weeks.
Update: I’m about 90% packed, but the process of getting rid of stuff has turned out to be one massive job. I don’t think I’ve worked this hard since the first year of building the Pyramid(BM…’03?). Not to mention all the little repairs and finishing stuff I’d intended to finish this fall. I’m going to need a long rest once I’m settled.
